Navigant Advisory Group

Your Guide for the Journey

Black women-owned and operated since 2004

Education. Empowerment. Practical next steps.

Our Firm

A steady place to begin.

Navigant Advisory Group is an education-first retirement benefits management firm.

I was the advisor on a plan where a "participant" was nearly 100 years old.

I asked what should have been an easy question: when was the last time the company, or any firm, had heard from this person? Nobody knew. Nobody had ever been asked.

Then it happened again, on another plan. A birth date entered as a default. A participant who died years ago and was never taken off the record. Some plans do not send statements at all. People move. The plan keeps a procedure for the balance and none for the human being.

That question is why Navigant Advisory Group became a retirement benefits management firm. Education teaches a plan to look. Somebody still has to go find them.

31.9 million forgotten 401(k) accounts hold $2.1 trillion, an average of $66,691 each (an analysis drawing on Center for Retirement Research data, 2025).

We locate missing participants and reunite them with dormant balances.

Senior Manager, Client Strategy & Experience

Tene Morgan leads client strategy and experience at Navigant. She spent more than thirteen years managing programs and relationships across nonprofit, higher education and consulting settings, most recently as Assistant Director of TRIO Upward Bound, where she coordinated student services, staff, partners and summer programming.

She holds a Master of Global Affairs from the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs, completed in 2023, with a specialization in human-centered instructional design.

She applies that training directly: organizing the information clients need, facilitating conversations, designing onboarding and review processes, and translating complex retirement topics into plain language.

Her focus is the part of the experience people actually feel. What a participant understands after a meeting. Whether a plan sponsor can find an answer without calling three times. Whether the process holds up the same way every time.

Leading the work of locating missing participants takes the same discipline: finding the person, confirming who they are, and making sure they understand what they have.

"I spent thirteen years designing programs for students who were the first in their families to go to college. The question was always the same: does the person in front of me actually understand what they're being told. Retirement plans are no different."
